Go back to sleep, it’s Monday! 😴 In today’s Rocketfuel we’re going to reset our brains for maximum productivity.
“Rest when you’re weary. Refresh and renew yourself, your body, your mind, your spirit. Then get back to work.” -Ralph Marston
When I was a kid, Fred the baker exhausted himself day and night constantly baking Dunkin’ Donuts.
The scary thing is how easy it is to turn into Fred.
We all have deadlines, projects, and mountains of stuff to get done each day. And you might think the solution is to pull an all-nighter or dip into the weekend.
But, you’d be wrong.
As counter-intuitive as it sounds, studies have proven time and time again that you will get more done if you hit the pause button and take a rest.
BTW, resting doesn’t always mean taking a nap. In the middle of your day, you could:
- Take a Walk,
- Go to the Gym
- Meditate or Pray
- Power Nap
- Listen to an Audiobook
There’s no need to run yourself ragged. Find a way to recharge your batteries and you’ll be way more effective at tackling that next challenge.
Challenge
Schedule an hour in the middle of your day to recharge. Don’t let anything (ANYTHING!!!) work-related interfere with it.
